Do you know?

  • that your daily flight, duty and rest times, will soon be ‘remotely controlled’ from Brussels?
    • … with EU flights times rules being drafted by non-experts in Brussels?
  • YOU will be required to FLY LONGER hours than what scientific evidence says is safe?
    • … because EU rules are designed tot avoid extra costs to the airlines?
  • that these rules will replace your national rules?
    • … even those that are stricter, i.e. safety may fail’

This is what YOUR EMPLOYERS are pushing for.

Unless we STOP them!

Cabin Crew and Pilots from across Europe  through their European Federation, the European Transport Workers’ Federation (ETF) – are working hard to ‘wake up’ EU decision-makers.

We want them to change their current proposals, in line with scientific evidence.

6 Reasons to Feel Concerned

  1. YOU are responsible for the safety of your passengers. How can you fulfill this role if safety rules are insufficient and you are required to operate to the limits?
  2. YOU will have to fly 11 hours at night, despite scientists arguing that 10 hours should be the limit. Is this safe?
  3. YOU will do 7 days of consecutive early starts, late finishes or night duties. Will you be fully alert?
  4. YOU will have been awake for 20 – 21 hours or more, will you be alert enough to face an emergency situation during landing?
  5. YOU will take in-flight rest in economy seats and then extend your flight time. This is what the airlines push for. Will you be rested?
  6. YOU fly multiple sectors per day, for longer than scientists recommend. Who is responsible if something goes wrong?
